Crystal Clear Tax Solutions Inc is a small family owned local business. We are looking to add two new team members. Both positions are part time and seasonal, with some opportunities for off season hours. We would like to start training in August with minimal hours until tax season starts in early January 2023. We offer our employees SIMPLE IRA plans with company match and Profit Sharing after completing 1 full tax season with us. There is NO REMOTE WORK. Please see the job descriptions below. SEASONAL TAX PREPARER (Part Time)

Job Duties/Description: This is is a great opportunity to grow your skills. Most of our clients have moderately complex to very complex tax returns, including many small businesses, rentals, and farms. You will be closely supervised and work along side skilled and experienced preparers who are supportive and have the heart of a teacher. Our clients are very important to us and we pride ourselves on providing top notch service. We offer drop off service, virtual tax prep, and traditional in-person services.

  • Work with clients and staff to timely prepare accurate tax returns and provide tax planning services.

  • Tax returns are prepared in Drake Tax; experience is a bonus, training will be provided.

  • Use software to manage all aspects of client interaction including status of tax return, messages, emails, phone calls, etc.

  • Work with clients in person, over the phone, and virtually.

Requirements:

  • An active Oregon Tax Preparer or Tax Consultant license required.

  • Intention of long-term work relationship - we want a tax pro who wants to come back every tax season and work some extension season hours. Tenure impacts profit share.

  • Willingness to learn our systems and procedures and adapt to how our company does business.

  • Have a positive attitude.

Schedule: This position will start in August with on the job training 1-2 days per week (about 6 hours total) until extension season (September through October).

  • August: Wed/Thu 10am to 1pm

  • Sep-Oct: Wed/Thu/Fri hours will vary from apx 10am to 3pm

  • Nov-Dec: minimal training hours, which may include virtual training sessions.

  • Jan-end of tax season (usually April): every other Monday and Saturday 9:30am to 6pm, Tuesday - Thursday - Friday 4pm to 8:30pm. Wednesday and Sunday off.

You will work alongside the Resident Consultant and other staff both meeting with and interviewing clients, and on drop-off/virtual tax returns. You will also spend part of your week shadowing seasoned tax professionals - learning best practices and tips. The position is seasonal, and we are looking for candidates who would like to return year after year, becoming part of our little family here in Sandy.

Compensation: Our tax pro's average well over $33/hour after their first year.

  • Hourly pay starting at $15.00.

  • Opportunity for Profit Share after completing first tax season.

  • Company paid OSTC membership, PTIN and OBTP license reimbursement. Some continuing education provided including 6 hours federal update annually.

EVENING & SATURDAY RECEPTIONIST

EXPERIENCE. Minimum 1 year's office experience or equivalent education. Must have great internet/computer skills and be proficient in email, MS Word, Excel, and Publisher and Adobe. Excellent oral and written communication. Experience in tax industry a plus. Experience with QuickBooks online a plus but not required.

SKILLS/QUALITIES. Team player, responsible, attention to detail and accuracy, confidentiality, ethical behavior, adherence to strict policy and procedure. Coachable/teachable personality; able to learn new tasks quickly and efficiently. Ability to connect with clients and create a personal relationship unique to each one. Ability to remain calm and see the positive in difficult and/or stressful situations.

RESPONSIBILITIES. You will always do the right thing both morally and ethically.

  • Office closing Managing schedules of multiple tax professionals 

  • Screen clients to match with appropriate tax pro 

  • Field phone calls, take messages, and return calls 

  • Small projects as assigned 

  • Appointment setting and reminder calls 

  • Sorting, filing, and managing paperwork, much of which is digital 

  • Welcome clients, make coffee, etc. 

  • Cleaning: bathroom, vacuum, dust, empty trash. 

  • Stock tax pro workstations 

  • Process client payments (cash register/POS) 

  • Facilitate drop-off and pick/up of paperwork according to policy and procedure.

SCHEDULE. This is a seasonal position that begins January 10th 2023 and is expected to end April 18th 2023. There will be minimal training hours between August and December 2022. The shift is Tuesday, Thursday, & Friday 4:30pm to 8:30pm. and Saturday 9:30am to 6pm (3/4 to 4/15). There is some room for flexibility in the schedule. This is a seasonal position we seek to fill long term, so we are looking for a candidate that intends to return each year for tax season. There will also be some opportunities for hours outside of tax season.

COMPENSATION. This position pays $15.00/hour
